Fresh Prince is lost in Google Translation

fresh prince

Staying true to the [somewhat indirect] theme of this blog, Don’t be a Hayter, here’s another thing I love:

The Google Translate Experiment.

Hypothesis:

If you use Google Translate on the same text multiple times – into multiple languages and back into English – it will lose all meaning and descend into gobbledygook and/or Klingon.*

So… here’s what happens if you do it 64 times.

With the theme tune from the  Fresh Prince of Bel-Air:

Created by CDZA.

Personal favourites (lost in translation):

‘When a couple of guys, they were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighbourhood’

‘When a couple of men, they do not improve, getting environmental problems in my territory’

and

‘I got in one little fight and my mom got scared and said “You’re moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air” ‘

‘Mama. I bring fear. She speaks: “I have nothing!” ‘ (?!)

Beware the seductive appeal of Google Translate!

* This is a lie.
